Charles “Mitch” Phillips
Mulhearn Funeral Home
West Monroe, LA
Memorial Services for Charles “Mitch” Phillips, 60, of West Monroe, LA will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 28, 2014 in the East Worship Center at North Monroe Baptist Church with Bro. Bryan Lipscomb officiating.
Mr. Phillips was born July 22, 1953 and passed away June 20, 2014. He was a member of White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ. Anyone who knew Mitch knew where he would be in the early spring – white bass fishing! During football season he would be with his brothers, family and friends cheering on LSU, the Saints or the West Monroe Rebels. He supported his nephew Nic by attending his baseball games and became known as their good luck charm. Mitch was at the center of every family gathering always laughing, joking and spreading his love. He shared his love with everyone but was so humbled and amazed by the love shown to him by all of his many friends, family and hospital staff during his last days. Mitch was truly an amazing person and will be remembered because he made a difference to so many people in so many ways.
Mitch is preceded in death by his mom, Betty Phillips; and brother, Freddy Phillips.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Phillips; daughters, Ashley Russell and Brandi Austin and husband, Joe; son, Bubba Barfield and wife, Brandy; grandchildren, Ashlyn, Tyler, Hunter, Summer, Cecelia and Bruce; father, Leo Phillips and wife, Joann; brothers, Darrell and wife, Dale, and Jonathan and wife, Jane; sister, Cindy Lipscomb and husband, Bubba; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Phillips name at Federal Employees Credit Union, 416 Sheridan Ave. Monroe, LA 71201.
