Charles Walter Massa

Charles Walter Massa Sr. passed away in the comfort of his West Monroe home surrounded by loved ones on February 6, 2023. Charles was 85 years old.

He served as an Army Ranger in the United States Army and proudly protected his country during the Korean War. Charles spent his career as the Supervisor of the ambulance department of E.A. Conway Hospital for 26 years.

Charles is survived by 9 of his 11 children:  Sandra Lee, Twila Massa, Tina Yarbrough, Toni Hicks, Nancy Lee, Charles Massa Jr., Christy Stevens, Shasta McKoin, and Tiffany Taylor; his grandchildren:Haley Lee, Ayron Lee, Heather Lee, Madison Lee, Jessica Griggs, Megan Lee, Candida Alvarez, Karina Alvarez, Brittany Breland, Christian Callender, Bradley Stevens, Hannah Coburn, Kaitlyn Massa, Alaysia Kennedy, Amaiya Kennedy, Chloe Lindsey, and Charlie Taylor, Ramona Coker, Sherry Jones, Travis Tripp, Alice Tripp, and his great grandchildren: Gracalyn, Jillian, Phillip, Heaven, McKenzie, Aubree, Amirah, Braedan, Karleigh, Reagan, Lilliahna and Amira.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Violet ‘Jeanette’ Massa, his daughter, Tammy Woods, and his son, Michael Lee.

Charles’ children will host a private ceremony with close friends and family.
