A graveside service for Charles L. Risher, 85, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Risher was a native of Monroe, where he resided his entire life. Charles was a graduate of Northeast Louisiana Junior College, and also, Louisiana Tech in Ruston with degrees in business from both.
Charles was a veteran who served his country in WWII, and was employed for many years with Missouri Pacific Railroad as one of their yard clerks until his health forced his retirement.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by one cousin, Mary Anita Lennon; a great niece, Lea Anita Inabnet; and a great nephew, Hugh Inabnet, all of Monroe; and close friends, Sally and Glenn Gore.
Charles wanted his gratitude expressed to Riverside Nursing Home, which was home for him for the past eighteen months. While residing at Riverside he received excellent care; and was very content, and grew fond of many who cared for him; particularly, his favorite, special, Nurse Ms. Joyce Turner who was always so patient and kind to him; even visiting to check on him whenever he was in the hospital.
Charles will be dearly missed.
