Mr. Charles Edmond Elmore, 80, of West Monroe, LA was born on December 15, 1944 in Point, LA and passed away on March 17, 2025, in West Monroe, LA.
Mr. Elmore retired from Graphic Packaging in West Monroe, LA, where he worked as a Pipefitter and general mechanic. Charles served in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing, especially fishing under the bridge at D’Arbonne and the pier at Lafourche. Mr. Elmore also loved camping, playing Dominoes, growing tomatoes in his garden, and epic fish fries with family and church friends. He is a member of Cypress Street Church of God in West Monroe, LA. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, James LeRoy and Ester Tidwell Elmore; brother, James Elmore; and his father and mother-in-law, John Hansford and Evelyn Russell.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Nancy Elmore; daughters, Charlene Ragan and husband, Brian and Wendy Chandler; grandchildren, Tyler Ragan and wife, Jessie, Spencer Ragan and wife, Bailey, Eric Chandler, David Chandler, and Samantha Jaiden Chandler; great grandchildren, Murphy Ragan, Hildi Ragan, Miller Ragan; brothers, Jimmie Dale Elmore, Carl Van Elmore and wife, Connie; sisters, Cora Sue Hedden, and Judy Bearden and husband, Larry; brother-in-law, Johnny Russell; along with numerous nieces, and nephews.
Memorial services for Mr. Elmore will be held at a later date.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Elara Hospice for taking such good care of him for the last few months. Also to his favorite aide Tamala and his sitter Taira for spoiling him.
