Private family services for Mr. Charles Carmichael, 82, of Monroe will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, with Rev. Brian Mercer officiating. Entombment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe.
Mr. Carmichael was born on July 22, 1939, in Enterprise, AL, and passed away on November 5, 2021, in Monroe. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lily Faye Carmichael.
Charles graduated from Troy State University and proudly served in the Alabama National Guard. In 1968, he and his family was transferred to Monroe, LA with State Farm Insurance.
He was a former member of Rotary International and a coach for youth baseball and softball for Monroe Recreational Center. Charles, also, enjoyed volunteering with Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge and Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana.
After his retirement from State Farm, he traveled with family and friends to 48 states and over 26 countries. He especially enjoyed visiting and connecting with his Scottish Heritage.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ruth Carmichael; daughter, Kristi Carmichael; son, Keith Carmichael and wife Jeanne; two grandchildren, Katherine and Richard Carmichael; sister, Lynn Carmichael; and brother Jimmy Carmichael and wife Karin.
