Charles Arthur Herbst

Memorial services celebrating the life of Mr. Charles Arthur Herbst, 94, of Monroe, LA formerly of Chicago, IL and Naples, Fl will be held at 5:00 PM Friday, March 6, 2020, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA with Rev. R.B. Moore officiating.
Mr. Herbst died February 1, 2020 at Cornerstone Specialty Hospital in West Monroe, LA.
Mr. Herbst was a member of the Catholic faith. He was a retired Advertising Executive with over 50 years in the industry. In his lifetime, he loved spending time with his family, golfing, fishing, and sports. Chuck was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Chuck was a veteran of World War II and was proud to serve as a paratrooper in the 17th Airborne and later in the 82nd.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Fred and Elizabeth Herbst; and his son, Charles and his daughter, Mary Beth.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, JoAnn (Stogis) Herbst; sister, Clara (Herbst) Fortman; daughter, Patty Barry and husband, John; son, Tim Herbst; stepson, Dr. Daniel Martisius and wife, DeAnna; and stepdaughter, Heidi Rasmussen and husband, Scott. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Joe, Jack, Kim, Lauren (Barry), Christina, Renee (Herbst), 4 step-grandchildren, Ben, Mazie (Martisius), Carly, Mallory (Rasmussen), and 4 great grandchildren, Tymothy, Hanlu (Aragon), John Brooks, Henry (Barry).
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until service time Friday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
