A Celebration of Life will be held for Mr. Charles A. Holloway, 81, of Monroe, LA, at 10:00 AM Friday, August 29, 2014, at North Monroe Baptist Church in Monroe with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home on Sterlington Road.Mr. Holloway passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Christus St. Joseph’s Nursing Home. He was a charter member of North Monroe Baptist Church and an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Holloway was also a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.He is survived by his adoring wife of 60 years, Norma Townsend Holloway; three sons, Charles Holloway and wife Carol; Gary Holloway and wife Lisa, their children Adam and Luke; John Holloway and wife Shelly, their children Michael, Jason, Sarah, Will and Josh; nine great grandchildren, Baylee, Jade, Logan, Gabrielle, “Little” Charles, Griffin, Chance, Charlotte and Cale; siblings, C. W. Holloway, Dora Hemphill, Lynn Sparks, and Judy Harris; and his brother-in-law, Carroll Townsend; along with numerous very special nieces and nephews.Charles was a devoted husband and a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a kind and generous man who never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and working in his yard. As his health declined in later years, he joined Norma at St. Joseph’s where they enjoyed being together for the remaining years of his life. His unwavering love of family and heartwarming smile will remain etched in our hearts forever.Pallbearers will be Jason Holloway, Adam Holloway, Will Crow, Cassedy Frith, Paul Oxley and Clint Nall.
