Chalmes V. (Punkin) Williams

November 20, 1929 — June 28, 2012

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Chalmes Vernon (Punkin) Williams, 82, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the College Place Baptist Church in Monroe, LA with Dr. Bryant Barnes and Rev. Waymond Warren officiating. Masonic Services will conducted at the Church by Dr. Glenn Jordan. Interment will be held at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA

Mr. Williams died June 28, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Mr. Williams was a member of College Place Baptist Church in Monroe for over 50 years, before he moved to West Monroe and joined the Fair Park Baptist Family. He served in the U S Air Force based in Japan. Returning home he graduated from Northeast La State College in Monroe. He retired from Columbian Chemicals Company after 27 years of service. Punkin was a member of the Dee A. Strickland Masonic Lodge # 465, where he was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie and Phillip Williams; brothers, Jack, Alan and Calvin Williams; sisters, Jewel Posey and Bonnie Humphrey.

Survivors: His wife of 55 years, Faye Auttonberry Williams; Daughter, Lisa Trussell and husband, David; Son, Mike Williams and Sharon; Grandchildren, Jeffrey Gordon and wife, Amanda, Stacey Gordon Majure and husband, John, Matthew Gordon, Katie Williams; Great Grandson, Tripp Gordon; sisters, Ruby Albritton, Mayvonne Wilkinson; brother-in-law, J. B. Humphrey. He leaves numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved as their Uncle Punkin.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Williams, Phillip Williams, Steve Johnson, William Ecklund, Adam Davenport, and Charles Graves. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Dee A. Strickland Masonic Lodge.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, and then Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time at the Church.

The family would like to give special thanks to LHC Hospice Care, Laurie Majure, and Dr. Coy Gammage and Staff at Oncology Associates.

Memorials may be made to the College Place Baptist Church or the Fair Park Baptist Church Building Program or the charity of your choice.
