In Loving Memory of Cathy Lynn Pickering, a kindhearted soul known for her love of animals, her creative spirit, and her warm and welcoming home, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, at the age of 67. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and countless cherished memories.

Born on October 20, 1957, Cathy was a devoted mother who poured her heart into raising her three children, Jenna, Ray, and Robert. Her home was always filled with laughter, the sound of footsteps running through the hallways, and the chatter of her children's friends, who found a second family under her roof. Cathy had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, always ready with a kind word, a comforting meal, or a listening ear.

Her love for animals was evident to all who knew her. From rescuing strays to nurturing her own beloved pets, she had a natural way of connecting with creatures of all kinds. Her home often doubled as a haven for animals in need, and her family fondly remembers the many furry friends who became part of their lives thanks to her compassionate heart.

Cathy was also a talented artist and craftsperson. She found joy in creating, whether it was through painting or her beautifully handcrafted decorations. Her creations reflected her vibrant personality and her ability to turn ordinary materials into extraordinary treasures. She often shared her love of crafting with her children, grandchildren, and their friends, teaching them the value of creativity and patience.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and Donald Richardson; and sister, Lori.

She is survived by her children, Jenna Pickering, Ray Pickering and wife, Crystal, and Robert Pickering; sisters, Laura Saxon and Linda Stovall and her husband, David; grandchildren, Jordan, Zane, Bailey and Maggie; and countless friends who were touched by her warmth and generosity.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of her love for animals and creativity, the family asks that donations be made to River Bandit Wildlife Rescue, 4215 Hwy 534, Haynesville, LA 71038 or Venmo @Wildlife-Rescue in her memory.

Cathy's life was one of love-love for her family, love for her animals, and love for the countless friends and neighbors who found joy and comfort in her presence. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
