Cathy Conti Pohl

Services for Cathy Conti Pohl of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 29, 2021, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monroe, LA with Father Paul Thunduparampil officiating. Burial will be at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Friday, October 29, 2021, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 2308 Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA 71203.

Cathy passed away peacefully at St. Francis Medical Center on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. Cathy Marie was born in Monroe Louisiana on November 5, 1953. She was the youngest child and only daughter born to Frances and Joe Conti.

Cathy graduated from Wossman High School in 1971 and Northeast Louisiana University in 1975. She married her high school sweetheart, Ronnie Pohl on October 4, 1975, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She started her career as substitute teacher for Ouachita Parish Schools. She loved being able to spend those years with her boys while they were in school and also created lifelong friendships with fellow teachers and co-workers. She was a faithful member of St Lawrence Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Altar Society. She always volunteered at the Annual Bar -B-Que Chicken Fundraiser at St. Lawrence and the Lenten Fish Fry at ULM CCM.

Cathy had a zest for life and enjoyed living her life to the fullest. She loved to celebrate any occasion and was the life of every party. Her greatest joy was being Mimi to her Granddaughter Grace Catherine. Cathy loved baking with Grace and watching her cheer. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her animals and being outdoors. She cherished her time with family and enjoyed family celebrations.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Frances Conti and her father-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Pohl.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ronnie Pohl; their sons, Robert Pohl and Derick Pohl and spouse, Misty; her only grandchild, Grace Catherine Pohl; her brothers, Joseph Conti and Gerald Conti and spouse, Michelle; special cousin, Joann Conti Greenlee; mother-in-law, Georgie Pohl; sisters-in-law, Linda Bryan and spouse Charles, Bobbie McCarty and spouse Bill, Kathy Smith and spouse Danny, Laura Sandifer and spouse Kevin, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are Sam Conti, Jason Greenlee, Robbie Greenlee, Casey Barton, Brock McCarty, Brad McCarty, and David Benefield.

Special thanks to her cousin, Joann and her brother, Gerald for their devotion and support during this time.
