Cathy "Jo" Anderson

Funeral services for Ms. Cathy “Jo” Anderson, 53, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ms. Cathy was born on January 15, 1970, in Monroe and passed away on January 7, 2024, in Monroe. She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmie Travis; and brother, Jamie Travis.

Ms. Cathy was a lady with a strong faith, pure heart, and loved the Lord. She was a graduate of River Oaks High School in 1988. Truly she never met a stranger, enjoyed watching football with her family, and her two favorite teams were LSU and the Saints. All her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, and even other children who met her called her Mamaw Jo. Before you left her or during a phone conversation with her, she always ended the conversation with I Love You and a kiss goodbye.  

Survivors include her mother, Glenda Travis; children, Elizabeth Fuller and Emily Bounds; grandchildren, Lily and Lathan Fuller, Abigail Meredith, and Isaac Smith; sister, Vicky Stepherson and husband Eddie; niece, Jessica Fryer; and nephew, Jamie Downs and her very special nephew, Michael Murphy.

Pallbearers will be Michael Murphy, Jamie Downs, Eddie Stepherson, Tiffany Hemphill, Robert Strain, and Marcus Smith.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
