A funeral mass celebrating the life of Mrs. Catherine Morrell “Katie” Miletello, 98, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 19, 2018, at St. Paschal’s Catholic Church in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Frank Coens officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA
Katie was born January 7, 1920, to Italian immigrants, Mariano and Rosalie Morrell. She passed away February 16, 2018, in her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She and her husband of 65 years were owners of Leon’s Grocery on Montgomery Street in West Monroe for over 42 years. Katie loved to cook, party, and tell jokes. You would never leave her house without a smile on your face or a full stomach.
Katie is preceded in death by her husband, Leon; her son, Gerald; brothers, Peter and Sam Morrell; and sisters, Vida Bondi, Rose Clark, Sadie Chris, Josie John, Lucille Bazile and Mamie Pitarro.
She is survived by her sons, Leon “Sonny” Miletello, Jr. and wife Gayle, and Ronnie Miletello and partner Patty Smith; daughter, Jo Louise Worthey and husband Dickie; daughter-in-law, Pam Miletello and her daughter, Briana; grandchildren, Cindy Stone, Debbie Herrington, Jo Elaine Miletello, Stephanie Osborne, Shonda Lewis, Joey Christopher Miletello, Anthony Miletello, Jarrod Miletello, Jesse Miletello, Jim Worthey and Ricky Worthey; 24 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Katie’s grandsons, Jim Worthey, Ricky Worthey, Joey Miletello, Jarrod Miletello, Jesse Miletello, and nephew, Frankie Pitarro.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Scott Stone, Blake Herrington and Tony Osborne.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Sunday with a vigil wake service at 6:00 P.M. at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
