Catherine was a native of New Orleans, LA, and longtime resident of River Ridge, LA, and Metairie, LA, and mother of five children. Following Hurricane Katrina, at the age of 80, she moved to Monroe, LA, to live with her daughter Denise. She never met a stranger and made new friends with ease at the Ouachita Council on Aging, Newcomers Club and St. Matthew Catholic Church. She was welcomed by her daughter’s friends with open arms and always grateful to be included in social gatherings. She spent many enjoyable hours at the OCA playing bingo, pokeno, and canasta in addition to participating in the exercise program and visiting with her friends. She enjoyed cooking New Orleans and Italian dishes, especially her gumbo, meatballs and red gravy, and stuffed artichokes. Catherine was a kind and sweet lady with a pretty smile and a captivating laugh. She was proud of her beautiful silver hair, which she made sure was properly styled. She enjoyed attending community events and never let anything get in her way of having fun. She loved dogs and warmly referred to her Boston Terriers, Emmy and Eloise, as her “babies.”
Catherine was preceded in death by her first husband, Anthony Duplechin, Sr.; and second husband, George Bordelon; parents, Jules Hote and Mary Catanese Hote; her twin sister, Josephine Darce; her brother, Robert Hote; and followed in death by her sister, Marion Brassette.
