Catherine Cannon Norman

Funeral services for Catherine Cannon Norman, 60, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Joe Martina officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mrs. Norman passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, in West Monroe, LA, after a short battle with cancer. She was a supervisor at Green Oaks Juvenile Detention Center for 10 years. After that, she worked for Palmetto Addiction Recovery Center for 15 years. Catherine was an avid animal lover, and was an avid sports fan, especially watching baseball. She loved watching her son play baseball, and her granddaughters play softball.

Mrs. Norman was preceded in death by her parents, Menier and Freda Brister Cannon; son, James L. Norman, III; and brother in law, John B. Norman.

Survivors include her husband, James Norman, Jr.; daughter, Brienne Shelby and husband Scott, and their children Amanda and Abbey Shelby; brother, Daniel M. Cannon and wife Michelle, and their children, Lacey and Wendy Cannon of Houston, TX; mother in law, Joan Norman Aycock; sister in law, Jan Turner and husband Terry; brothers in law, Jerry Lynn Aycock and wife Tami and Jason Aycock and wife Rebekah; and special cousins, Jimmy Sterling, Floyd Sterling, Patricia Sterling, and Joe Roy Namie.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Sterling, Floyd Sterling, Jason Aycock and Jerry Aycock.

Visitation will be 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.

Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and ULM Alumni Association.
