Memorial Service for Mrs. Carrie Dixon Horvath, 83, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 12:30 P.M., Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1301 Oliver Road, Monroe, LA 71201, with Rev. Bill Cornelius officiating.
Mrs. Horvath was born July 5, 1934, in Baton Rouge, LA, and passed away February 13, 2018, in Monroe, LA. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a retired Administrative Assistant with the Louisiana Department of Highways. Mrs. Horvath was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Steadfast in love with God and family, her warmth and humor will be missed by all that knew her. Her faith in Christ sustained her and blessed us all.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Dixon; mother, Emma Tate Dixon; and husband, Stephen Joseph Horvath.
Survivors include her brother, A.W. (Wilson) Dixon and wife Sharon; son, Stephen J. Walters and wife Martez; son, Gregory M. Walters and wife Michele; grandchildren, Sean Walters, Christina Walters, Nicole Walters, Aliyah Walters, Eric Hendrix, Stevenie Barnes, John Corban, Shane Corban and Clint Corban; fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to express deep appreciation to St. Francis Medical Center and Savannah Grand for the excellent care provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DeSiard Street Shelter in Monroe or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
