Mrs. Carolyn Mae Cooper Duncan, 93, received God’s greatest blessing when she departed her earthly home in Ruston, LA on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 19, 2021, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 P.M. at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Todd Free and Rev. William Smith officiating.
Mrs. Duncan was born on October 12, 1928, in Dunn, LA. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Cook Baptist Church in Ruston, LA, and was also a charter member of Lakeshore Baptist Church in Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Mae Cooper; her husband, James Lester Duncan; sisters, Laverne Watts and Pat Hart; brothers, Jerry Cooper and Clayton Cooper, Sr.; and her son-in-law, James Karnes, Sr.
Survivors include her daughter, Jan Duncan Gibbs and husband Lawrence; three grandsons, James Lynn Karnes, Jr. (Angel), Jonathon Lawrence Karnes, and Jeffrey Aaron Gibbs (Kira); and five great grandchildren, Keri Karnes, Sydney Karnes, James Luke Karnes, Katie Karnes, and Autumn Gibbs.
Pallbearers will be James Karnes, Jonathon Karnes, Jeffrey Gibbs, Clayton Cooper, Jr., and Ricky Cooper.
Honorary pallbearer will be Marvin Watts.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to the sitters, Margaret Conner, Amy Poole, Francene Ethridge, Frameka Conner, Renee Roberson, Ladondra, Barbara, and Carolyn, who so lovingly cared for our Mama and Mamaw. The family would also like to give thanks to TruCare Homehealth and Premier Hospice.
