Funeral services for Carolyn H. Fox, 80, of Monroe, will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, December 21, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, with Dr. Alan Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fox passed from this life peacefully in her home on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born in Charleston, MO. She was a member of Swartz First Baptist Church of Monroe. Carolyn worked for many years as a legal assistant, both in Vicksburg, MS, and Monroe, LA. She pursued her love of art and began painting after moving to Monroe in the 1970s. Carolyn cherished being one of the founding members of the Ouachita River Art Guild/Gallery and was an accomplished artist in acrylic, watercolor, oils, and mixed medium. She enjoyed teaching art for many years at the West Monroe Senior Center and loved being a part of many art workshops/trips and paint groups. She was also an avid gardener with a lifelong love of the beauty of nature, as exhibited in her beloved yard and reflected in her multitude of paintings.
Mrs. Fox was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Lee Fox; her parents, Ellis and Evelyn Howlett; and son-in-law, Barry Bagby.
Survivors include her daughters, Laurie Bagby, and Carol Schoonover and husband Mike; grandchildren, Eric Schoonover, Caleb Schoonover and wife Ashley, Carey Bagby, and Alan Bagby; great-grandsons, Aiden and Cooper Schoonover and Ryley Bagby; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Feezor and husband Jack; brother-in-law, Don Fox; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mike Schoonover, Eric Schoonover, Caleb Schoonover, Carey Bagby, Alan Bagby, and Patrick Daniel.
The family would like to extend a special thanks for the wonderful care provided by Michelle, Heather, and Jean of Jordan Hospice.
