Carolyn Elizabeth McClanahan McBride

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Carolyn Elizabeth “Betty” McClanahan McBride, 79, of Baton Rouge, LA formerly of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 3, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA. Interment to follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. McBride passed February 21, 2018, in Baton Rouge, LA.

Mrs. McBride was a member of First United Methodist Church in Monroe. She received her B.A. from Louisiana Tech University and M.S. from Northeast Louisiana University. She was a high school teacher serving at Wossman High School and St. Frederick’s High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Tom” McBride; Parents, Carolyn and E. C. "Mac" McClanahan, Pauline and W. W. "Woody" McBride; Uncle, Henry “Hank” McClanahan; and Aunt, Grace McClanahan.

Survivors: Children, Carol McBride, Charles McBride, Tarilyn McBride, and Paula McBride; Grandchildren, Elizabeth Sawyer, Allison McBride, and Benjamin Sawyer; Sister, Adelaide Brown; Sisters-in-law, Carol McBride and Carolyn “Susie” Moncla; Brothers-in-law, James McBride, William “Bill” Brown, and Steve Moncla.

Pallbearers will be Charles McBride, Benjamin Sawyer, James McBride, William Brown, Michah Lamb, and Steve Moncla.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Louisiana Tech University, College of Education.
