Carolyn Bass

Celebration of Life for Ms. Carolyn Bass, 63, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 11, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home. 

Ms. Bass was born October 21, 1960, in Fort Worth, TX, and passed away on April 29, 2024, in Houston, TX.

Ms. Bass graduated from Carroll High School on May 17, 1978, and later graduated from University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1981 with a BA in Speech Education, Speech Language, and Hearing Specialists. Later she obtained a Master of Science from Tech University in 2008, and a Master of Education from Tech University in 2021. She was a member of the Ouachita Parish School System serving as a Assistive Technology/Augmentative Communications Coordinator. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Brooks and her father, Kelly Brooks. 

Survivors include her sister, Claudine Brooks; brother, Nathaniel Brooks; three sons, Taja Bass, Clyefer Bass Jr., and Christopher Bass; and seven grandchildren.
