Carolyn Babb Hanson

A celebration of life service for Mrs. Carolyn Babb Hanson will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, December 14, 2018, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Bob Clanton officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Carolyn was born August 13, 1941, in Shreveport, LA, and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.

Carolyn’s faith in Jesus Christ was strong, and she was the cornerstone of her family. Her love for Christ, and for her family and friends was evident to everyone who knew her.

She enjoyed painting and showing her bearded collies in competition. She was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and was also president of her local Hepatitis C support group. For many years, she was owner/broker of Babb Realty on Lake D’Arbonne in Farmerville, LA.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Kent Lorel Babb; her father, Robert L. “Bob” Jackson; her mother, Charlotte Lowe Jackson; and her sister, Jan Jackson Nelson.

Survivors: her husband, Hylton Hanson; sister Pamela Jackson Taylor; 7 Sons: Jerome Bill Mitchum Jr., Houston, TX, Robert Mark (Jennifer) Babb of Lexington, SC, Randal Curtis (Michelle) Babb of Natchez, MS, Ronald Kent (Stephanie) Babb of Baton Rouge, LA, Rusty (Janice) Babb of Monroe, LA, Marcus Babb of Lafayette, LA, and Warren Babb of Cape Coral, FL; 13 Grandchildren: Kristin Babb Simmons, Christopher Cranford, US Marine Sergeant Jordan Babb, Anna Claire Babb, Cherri Mitchum, Al Harthy, Diana Babb, Julie Babb, Lauren Babb, Garrett Babb, Holly Babb, Damion Babb, Aaron Babb, Danielle Babb; and 10 Great-Grandchildren; several aunts, nieces and nephews; and dear friends: Velda Fitchett and Jean McGough.
