Carmel 'Chuck' F. Miller

Funeral services for Carmel (Chuck) Miller, 74, of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 31, 2015 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on the Old Swartz School Road. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of service Thursday at the church.Chuck was born December 20, 1941 in Monroe, LA and passed away on December 28, 2015 following a short illness.He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Virginia Miller; and daughter, Amanda Kay Miller; all of Monroe.Chuck was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, a teacher of Life Underwriters, a past Governor of the Monroe Moose Lodge, a member of Am-Vets and a Veteran of Vietnamese war with the US Air Force. He also served the people of Monroe for 50 years as an Insurance Agent. From the age of 17, he started a band (Phaze II) and played the rest of his life.Survivors include his wife, Billie Miller; three sons, Mike Miller, Morris Jones, Jr., and James Jones and wife Kelly; four daughters, Sharon Weemes and husband Mike, Cathy Davis and husband Kenny, Terri Clark and husband Dick, Landra Harrison and husband Jamie; two brothers, V.J. Miller and Lenard Miller; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; one sister in law, Linda Cunningham; and one brother in law, Robert Triplett; and numerous cousins and friends.Chuck will be laid to rest at Mulhearn Memorial Garden Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe.
