Carlene Raney Sanderson

Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Carlene Raney Sanderson, 85, of Monroe, LA, will be 10:00 AM Thursday, April 21, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Ben Hackler officiating. Graveside Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Redwing Cemetery.

Mrs. Sanderson was born November 12, 1936 and went to be with Her Lord and Savior on April 18, 2022. She owned and operated Sanderson’s Antiques. Mrs. Sanderson was a member of Swartz First Baptist Church. She became a Christian at the age of 10. Mrs. Sanderson raised her children to love the Lord. She served many years as a Sunday School teacher until she was physically unable to, then she ministered through prayer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Levi Raney and Lucille Freeman; brother, Edward Raney; sister, Agnes Whitlock; and husband Henry Sanderson.

Survivors include her five children, Cathy Price and husband Michael, Ricky Sanderson and wife Julie, Roger Sanderson and wife Liz, Deborah Parks and husband Ray, and Michael Sanderson; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Sullivan and Betty Jean Fields; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Trent White, Luke Vallery, Adam Sanderson, Levi Smith, Bryan Caleb Strong, and Aaron Sanderson.


Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe.

Memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.
