Funeral services for Mr. Carl M. Williams will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA, with Fr. Mike Thang’wa officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
Carl (Pops) was born on August 22, 1934, in Holly Ridge, LA, and passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022, in Monroe, LA.
Carl served in the Air Force and went on to work at the News Star until he retired. He then worked offshore for several years, then at Central Printers.
He was a member of the Columbus Social Club. He played softball and belonged to a bowling league for many years. His biggest joy in life was his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandson. Pops enjoyed playing poker (and winning) with his family, going on family vacations and eating Vita’s good cooking.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Vita M Williams; his daughters, Toni Roth and Terri Tripi and husband Phil; grandchildren, Shane Roth and Mica Williams; great grandchildren, Austin, Caleb, Carter Roth and Cole Woodall; one great great grandson, Waylon Roth; his sisters-in-law, Christine Roberts and Rose Jacola; brother-in-law, Calton Yeager; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as special friends, Alisha Roth and Craig McLendon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul or the Department of Veterans Affairs.
