Funeral services for Carl Calvin Evans, 79, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 28, 2011, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Evans passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Christus St. Joseph’s Home. He was a member of Lakeshore Baptist Church and a tugboat captain on the Mississippi River for over 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Evans; daughters, Lynn Telano and husband John of Louisville, MS, Carlon Fowler and husband Karl of Rogers, AR, Patricia Shaffer of Fayetteville, AR, Lisa Howington and husband Marvin of Rogers, AR, and Teresa Cullum of Rogers, AR; ten grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Fowler, John McGraw, Brent Telano, Marvin Howington, Alan Michael Shaffer, and Ace Cullum.
Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 Noon until service time at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Lakeshore Baptist Church, 308 Lakeshore Drive, Monroe, LA 71203.
