Candace Ann Long

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Candace Ann Long, 46, of Monroe, LA, will be 3:00 PM Saturday, September 7, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe with Rev. John O’Leary officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Candace was born April 17, 1978, and passed away suddenly from a medical illness on September 4, 2024. She was a member of First Methodist Church Monroe. Candace was an emergency medical technician then worked fire watch at shutdowns all over the southern United States. She was a loving mother, wife, and daughter. Candace was a caregiver to many folks over the past 10 years. She enjoyed bass fishing, disc golf, and enjoyed a good home cooked meal.

She is preceded in death by her son, John “JP” Salvato; and mother, Pamela Thornton.

Survivors include her husband of 9 years, Matthew Long; daughter, Madielynn Grace McCurley; son, Adriel Preston Long; father, Preston Johnson; two brothers, Calvin Branch, Jr., Michael Branch; biological father, Calvin Branch and wife Karla; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. 

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, September 6, 2024 at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.

The family requests memorial donations to be made to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
