Buford Doyle Saterfiel

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Buford Doyle Saterfiel, 76, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday July 28, 2021, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in West Monroe with Dr. Randy Burdeaux and Rev. Nathan Thornton officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Baptist Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
Mr. Saterfiel passed away on July 25, 2021, on his hill as he called their residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Doyle was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where he served in various capacities. He retired as a Supervisor with the Ouachita Parish Public Works. He was a friend to Everyone, Stranger to none…… AKA “Trouble”. One of his greatest passions was care and upkeep of Mt. Vernon Baptist Cemetery when he wasn’t doing special projects for others in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Lillian Saterfiel; Sister, Oreatha Luttrell Bond; brothers, Truman and Herbert Saterfiel.
Survivors: his wife of 57 years, Mrs. Melba Wages Saterfiel; Son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Sheri Saterfiel; Daughter and Son-in-law, Angie and Jay Wiley; Grandchildren, Jared and Anna Saterfiel, Kyle and Macey Wiley, and Corbin and Katie Wiley; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Mayes, Jared Saterfiel, Corbin Wiley, Kyle Wiley, Keith McKaskle, and Ronnie Massey. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the MVBC Men’s Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until the family leaves.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and physicians in the Intensive Care Unit at Glenwood Regional Medical Center and the wonderful staff of the Heart of Hospice. Especially our angel of mercy, Edye Roark.
