Bruce Collins Busbice, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Bruce Collins Busbice, Sr., 84, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA, with Rev. Doyle Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until time of service.

Bruce was born October 5, 1938, in Monroe, LA and passed away November 9, 2022. He is a graduate of Mangham High School in 1956 and NLSU (now ULM) with a B.S. in Agronomy in 1961.

Bruce’s devotion was the continuation of his father’s farm and upon retirement he enjoyed studying and teaching Spanish in local schools.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Eva Busbice; sisters, Lois Hollingsworth, Joyce Cherryholmes, Verlon “Buz” Robertson, and Shirley Broadway; brothers, Hollace Busbice, Kenneth Busbice and Thad Busbice; and daughter-in-law, Genny Busbice.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Busbice; children, Bruce Busbice, Jr., Connie Williams and husband Ben, and Jason Busbice; grandchildren, Eady Tunstall and husband Isaac, Jared Williams and wife Mallory, Alan Williams and wife Katie, and Sierra Busbice; great grandchildren, Macon Williams and Brock Williams; as well as numerous other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Jason Busbice, Bruce Busbice, Jr., Jared Williams, Alan Williams, Eric Broadway, and George Robertson, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mangham United Methodist Church.
