Brenda Moreau Gilly, 75, was born on December 1, 1949, in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away at Glenwood Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness on February 4, 2025, in West Monroe, Louisiana. She will be interred in the family plot at Hasley Cemetery.
Brenda was generous by nature and was especially devoted to her family and special canine pets. She began her career at Bancroft Bag in West Monroe, Louisiana and later pursued career advancement with Sun Chemical in Kansas City, Missouri. For four decades she would accept job assignments in Dallas, Chicago, and Cincinnati, as well as international affiliates of Sun Chemical, Brenda enjoyed the travel experiences afforded by various positions including an accountant, trainer, consultant, supervisor, and manager. She retired in 2015 at age 65.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Norma Jackson Moreau and Tommy Moreau; two beloved brothers, Michael Moreau who was killed in Vietnam combat in 1970 and Col. Terry Moreau who died in 2012 after serving a distinguished military career in the U.S. Army.
She is survived by her sister, Sandra Moreau Reitzell of West Monroe; her sister-in-law, Sherry Warren Moreau of Barnhill, South Carolina; her chosen brother, Dickie Jackson of West Monroe. Other surviving relatives include nieces: Kim Malone of West Monroe, Kerrie Ann Norman and Sandra Kay Cummins of South Carolina; and nephews: Michael Moreau and Joseph Moreau, also of South Carolina.
