Bonnie Sue Thomas Mercer

September 14, 1936 — August 31, 2020

With sadness the family announce the passing of Bonnie Mercer on August 31, 2020, at the age of 83. She was born on September 14, 1936, to Jessie W. Thomas
and Edna Thomas Constable.

She met and married the love of her life Pat Mercer in 1950. They had many adventures and happy times until his passing in 2013. They were married for 63 years.

Bonnie was a lady who loved life and never met a stranger. She drove a school bus for over 30 years and loved the children.

She also loved her flowers and would spend hours tending to them. Her yard was once featured in the newspaper.

She also loved the Lord and she and Pat would read the Bible every day and tried to apply His teaching into their lives. They were always helping those in need.

They were members of College Place Baptist Church and now the First Baptist Church of Sterlington.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Mercer; her parents; and her youngest daughter, Linda Bermingham. Survivors include daughter, Patricia (Patty) Massey and husband Taylor; and grandson, Ash Bermingham wife Donna; numerous cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jerry White, Robert Hilton, Monroe Hilton, Roy Sivils, Stephen Hawkins, and Jerry Hobson.

There will be a combined graveside service with her daughter, Linda Mercer Bermingham at 10:00AM Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers who took care of her at home and in the hospital. They were compassionate and loving.

Linda Mercer Bermingham

With a heavy heart the family announces the passing of Linda on August 10, 2020, in Texas.
She was born in Monroe on February 7, 1956, to Pat and Bonnie Mercer. Linda was the most forgiving , loving, and caring person anyone could know.
She had a great love of Jesus Christ her Savior. She loved to talk about Him and read her Bible.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Pat Mercer; and her grandparents. Survivors include mother, Bonnie Mercer (who passed away on August 31, 2020. in Monroe); son, Ashley Bermingham and wife Donna; and sister Patty Massey and husband Taylor.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00AM Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe.
Memorials may be made to the Ouachita Parish Humane Society.
The family will also celebrate the life of Bonnie Sue Thomas Mercer at the same service with her daughter, Mrs. Linda.
