Funeral services celebrating the life of Bonnie McGee Goodman Brooks, 82, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 13, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Dr. Darrell Dean, Rev. Jimmy Pitson, and Rev. Michail Baldwin officiating. The interment will follow immediately after at New Hope Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Monday, August 12, 2024, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Bonnie was born on September 27, 1941, in Ruston, Louisiana and went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Bonnie worked for Riverwood International for many years and was the Quality Control Supervisor when she retired. She was also an active member of Clark Springs Baptist Church in West Monroe, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her grandparents, Oliver Ellis and Mittie McGee, Ransom and Guthrie Spurlock; her parents, Harold and Inez Spurlock McGee; husband, Willford E. “Bill” Goodman; husband, Freddie Wayne Brooks; brother, Juett E. McGee; niece, Debra Ann McGee; and stepdaughter, Ann Wilkerson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Shellia McGee Dean and her husband, Joe; sister-in-law, Ola Mae McGee; niece, Terri Jordan and her husband, Gene; nephews, Greg McGee and his wife, Kristie and Dr. Darrell E. Dean and his wife, Stella Renee; her special chosen daughters, Tomi Tharp and April T. Jones; stepson, William E. Goodman and his wife, Nikki; stepdaughters, Marian G. May and Kelly Brooks Stewart; as well her step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, great nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, and friends.
The pallbearers will be Greg McGee, Kaleb McGee, Gene Jordan, Josh Jordan, Joe Jordan, and Gary Nugent.
The honorary pallbearers will be J.W. Dean, Warren Ezell, Stanley King, Mike Morton, Mark Murphey, Farrell Semmes, Eddie Wilkerson, and the men of Clark Springs Baptist Church.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Staff of The West Monroe Guest House and Elara Caring Hospice for the kind and compassionate care given to Bonnie in her final days.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the New Hope Baptist Church of Choudrant Shoe Box Ministry or a charity of your choice.
