Bobby LaRue Adair

October 14, 1934 — November 29, 2021

Graveside service for Mr. Bobby L. Adair, 87, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 3, 2021, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Woods Watson officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Friday at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
Bobby was born in LaGrange, Georgia in 1934 and joined the US Air Force in 1954. Bobby served as a military police officer in many locations while in the Air Force but most loved telling stories about his time in Greenland. Bobby was honorably discharged by the Air Force at England Air Base in Alexandria, Louisiana in 1957 following a gunshot wound that impaired his service. Following his service in the US Air Force, Bobby attended Northeast Louisiana University and graduated with a Business Degree in 1962.
Soon after moving to Monroe, Bobby met his bride to be, Carolyn, on a blind date arranged by Carolyn’s church friends. Bobby and his wife of 60 years were blessed with 3 beautiful daughters: Cathy, Susan, and Emily.
Bobby and Carolyn were members of First West and enjoyed their close group of friends in their Life Group Class. Bobby was a hard worker and taking care of his family was top priority. Bobby and Carolyn dearly loved their cousins, Jerry, Gearline, who was like a sister to Bobby, Ela Kaye, and Elem Eley. They always looked forward to spending time with their immediate and extended families.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Roberta Freeman Adair and their daughter, Susan Elizabeth Adair. The family will surely miss his sweet smile and his gentle disposition; but are thankful he is reunited with the love of his life and their daughter.
Survivors include his two daughters, Cathy Thurlkill and Richard; and their children, Lizzie and John Thurlkill; and Emily Baker and husband Joey and their children, Michael and Morgan Baker.
The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the staff of Rapides Regional Medical Center South Tower 3rd Floor Cardiac / Telemetry unit and all the staff at Hilltop Nursing and Rehabilitation in Pineville, LA for their love and care of Bobby during his last days of his life.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
