Bobbie H. Brister

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Bobbie H. Brister, 80, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 22, 2018, at New Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Patrick Petrus and Dr. Marty Black officiating. Interment will follow in New Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.

Bobbie died June 18, 2018, at Rosemont Assisted Living in West Monroe surrounded by her family.

Bobbie enjoyed life to its fullest and loved to travel. She had a big heart, was devoted to her family and enjoyed serving others. She faithfully served in many positions at her church, including Church Clerk, Chairman of the Kitchen Committee and a Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years. Bobbie married Buck in 1956 and remained a devoted, loving wife for 62 years as of May 11, 2018. Bobbie was a great mother to her two girls and she was passionate about her three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She held a strong devotion to her family, who will miss her dearly, but can celebrate the fact that she is in the loving arms of Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Cora Hendrix, brother, Jimmy Hendrix; son-in-law, Steve Adams; and nieces, Dana Hollis and Cindy Hendrix.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Mr. Archie “Buck” Brister; daughters, Karen B. Courville and husband, Roy, and Tammy B. Adams; grandchildren, Apryl Bundy (Brian), Patrick Petrus (Wendy), and Rachel Wales (Drew); great grandchildren, Riley Petrus, Harper Wales, Hudson Bundy, Hallie Wales, Avery Kate Petrus, Hollyn Wales and Dawson Bundy; two sisters, Patricia Copes (Freddy) and Carolyn Sledge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dewey Wood, Tim Martin, Ben Bridges, Zach Wood, Jacob Bridges and Caleb Bridges.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, June 21, 2018, at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA.

Memorials may be made to New Chapel Hill Baptist Building Fund or Cemetery Fund.
