Bobbie was born on June 26, 1937 and left this world on June 4, 2020.
Our hearts are broken with the loss of Bobbie. Our lives are enriched because of her. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, who never had a bad day in her life. Always smiling, laughing and being positive—no matter what the situation. She always found the good in everyone. Bobbie grew up in Sicily Island and met Roland at the age of 19 on a blind date in West Monroe. They dated for eight months and decided they were fit for marriage. Hers and Roland’s life together of 62 years was a romance story to be envied. They weren’t a couple—they were ONE. They did everything together. It was a marriage that was beyond special, and the love they had for each other was like no other.
Bobbie retired from the Ouachita Parish School System as a Food Service Manager. She was committed to not only Roland but her children and grandchildren. She was a giver and never expected anything in return. Bobbie and Roland’s home in Calhoun was a gathering place for friends and family. They hosted many events including church get-togethers, family reunions, games of all types, etc. When you visited, you always left with an offering, whether it be a special dish Bobbie had cooked or plants they had raised. Bobbie was an avid cook, gardener, traveler and had a passion for life in general. She made each moment count. Another one of Bobbie’s hobbies was playing pokeno on Wednesdays at the West Ouachita Senior Center. She looked forward to each week’s gathering of fun and being with friends. She was the last of the original group of ladies who formed this group. Bobbie had struggled with health problems for the past two years; however, she never complained. She met these health challenges with a force until her frail body could take no more. Bobbie left this world with no regrets other than leaving her family. There is a big void with the loss of Bobbie that can never be replaced. We will miss her, but we know she is whole again and delighting in our Heavenly Father’s amazing home. We look forward to the day when we will see her again.
