Billy Ray Starnes

Funeral service for Mr. Billy Ray Starnes, 67, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 1:30PM Tuesday, October 26, 2021, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow in Wynn Cemetery in Start, LA. Visitation will be from 12:00PM until service time Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Billy was born on September 23, 1954, in Natchez, MS, and passed away on October 22, 2021, in Monroe, LA. His nickname was Sport Billy. He loved the outdoors, was a gun enthusiast, and loved animals especially his dogs. In his younger life, Billy spent years learning karate, Tae Kwan Do particularly and earned a Brown Belt. Billy worked hard to achieve everything he had in life. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at his favorite pawn shop. Billy was a strong man who fought a long hard battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edwina Starnes; and brothers, Burk Baker and Bobby Starnes.

Survivors include his friend and former wife, Pam Raborn; children, Jennifer Starnes Lingefelt and Matthew Nolan Starnes; three grandchildren, Hunter Starnes and wife Rebekah, Tyler Lingefelt, and Raven Lingefelt; and half-sister, Cathy Felter.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Starnes, Tyler Lingefelt, Bryan Lingefelt, Pat McCormick, Billy Huckabay, and Ernie Farrar.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
