Funeral services for Billy F. Tucker, 84, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at the Fair Park Baptist Church, in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Waymond Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery in Farmerville, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Bill was born January 7, 1934 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 21, 2018, following a brief illness. He was the most amazing husband, father, and grandfather. There was absolutely nothing he wouldn’t do for his family. Bill lost his precious wife, Joan, in 2017, after 59 years of a perfect marriage. There was no love like theirs.
Bill was a native of Farmerville, a place he dearly loved. There was no more wonderful place for him, other than sitting on a hill at “The farm”. After his service in the Air Force, Bill attended Louisiana Tech until it was time to quit and support his new family. Bill was the original co-owner/founder of Car Town Used Cars in Monroe. He threw himself into his church work after retirement. He was a humble, faithful servant, having taught the men’s Sunday school class and served as church treasurer at Fair Park Baptist Church for many years. He also served on many committees including the Pastor Search Committee.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Della Moore Tucker, and his father, Perry Jordan Tucker; brothers, Truman, Travis and Perry Oliver; and sister, Rozena Plonnigs.
Survivors include his son, Terry Tucker and wife Sandra of Conway, AR; daughter, Tammy Griffin and husband, Reed of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Jordan Tucker and wife Mindy, Michael Tucker, Joseph Tucker Johnston, and Victoria Dunn; great grandchildren, Lauren Nicole Tucker, and Lucy Greer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Fair Park Church on October 23, 2018.
Memorials may be made to Fair Park Baptist Church Missions Program.
