Memorial services celebrating the life of Mr. Billy L Fleming, 92, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, January 23, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Chris Winterman officiating. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service.
Mr. Fleming was born on August 20, 1932 and passed away on January 9, 2025 at the Landmark Nursing and Rehab Facility.
Mr. Fleming was an avid LSU fan and held season football tickets for many years. He may have graduated and played football at Ouachita High School but became a West Monroe Rebel. Through the years he and his wife, Donna, never missed a West Monroe High School football game. He and Donna also loved to travel in their motorhome, they traveled all over the United States, including Alaska and Canada. Mr. Fleming was also a hunter and a past member of Jackson Point Timber hunting club spending time with his son, son-in-law, and grandsons.
Mr. Fleming was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Monroe, LA where he served in numerous leadership positions. He then attended First Methodist Church in West Monroe, LA. He owned/operated Plumbing, Inc., a plumbing and mechanical business for fifty years where he made lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Donna Montgomery Fleming; parents, James Oma and Mable Fleming; brothers and sisters-in-law, Oma Gene and Sue Fleming, Nolan and Geraldine Fleming.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Randy Fleming (Cindy); daughter, Cheri F. Miller (Randy); brother, Paul Fleming (Margaret); grandchildren, Breean Worthey (Rick), Landon Fleming, Jason Miller (Jenifer), Jacob Miller (Cally); great grandchildren, Jack Edward Moody, Mae Marie Moody, Estelle Ruth Moody, Emily Worthey, Hallie Worthey, Wyatt Worthey, Tommy Miller and Alice Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Landmark Nursing Home’s nurses and CNA’s for their excellent care of our dad.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals or a charity of your choice.
