Funeral services for Betty Virginia Smith Wallace, 69, of Farmerville, will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 30, 2010, at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Jennings officiating and Eulogies by Walker Glenn and Allan Rhodes,. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Interment will be at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Wallace passed away Monday, December 27, 2010, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. She was a resident of Farmerville for 20 years and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mrs. Wallace loved gardening and was an artist and painter and lover of nature, butterflies, and animals. Some of her favorite memories were times spent with family at the beach. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Her pride and joy was her great grandson, Ethan.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 50 years, Jerry Wallace; daughter, Kim Glenn and husband Walker; granddaughter, Ashley Lowery Higgins; great grandson, Ethan Higgins; two step grandsons, Brodie Glenn and wife Alice and Cameron Glenn and wife Aimee Claire; mother-in-law, Nena Wallace; two sisters, Joy Rhodes of Plain Dealing, LA, and Jean Darby of Houston, TX; one brother, Stephen Smith of Plain Dealing, LA; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Wallace and wife Janell, and Glenn Wallace and wife Oleta; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Allan Rhodes, Zack Wallace, Cameron Glenn, Michael Inzina, J. M. Roberson, and Marty Sutton.
