Betty Sue Sullivan Williams, known affectionately as Sue, peacefully passed away and joined her Lord and Savior on July 9, 2023. She was born on July 16, 1937, in Rosedale, Mississippi, to Claude and Estelle Sullivan. A devoted follower of Jesus, Sue lived a life filled with love, compassion, and service to others. Her graveside services will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 10:00 A.M., at the Open-Air Chapel Mausoleum at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens in West Monroe, Louisiana, with Pastor Waymond Warren officiating.
Sue's kind and generous spirit touched the lives of many. She had a love for conversation and a passion for cooking, especially for those around her. She found joy in preparing meals for others and was known for her famous pound cakes, which she lovingly shared with family, friends, and even acquaintances on their birthdays. Sue's selflessness extended beyond the kitchen as well. After retiring from her career as Deli Manager at Super 1 Foods, she dedicated many years to serving her community through various ministries at Fair Park Baptist Church, including coordinating and providing meals to families who had experienced the loss of a loved one and serving during collection week for Operation Christmas Child.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the exceptional caregivers from Serenity Care Providers who provided Sue with exceptional care and support during her final days.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Estelle Sullivan, as well as her beloved husband of 60 years, Clifton 'Sonny' Williams.
She is survived by her children, Rhonda Earl (Billy), Ronnie Williams (Pam), and Donnie Williams (Marlene); her cherished grandchildren, Brandon Earl (Allison), Brittany Earl, Brooklyn & Brianna Williams, and Hannah Williams; and her adored great-grandchildren, Annabelle & Lillian Earl.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Operation Christmas Child, two causes that held deep meaning for Sue.
Sue will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will continue to inspire those who follow in her footsteps. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
