Betty Miller Thomson

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Miller Thomson, 88, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, Monroe with Rev. Gene Norman officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Mrs. Thomson was born March 10, 1929, in Monroe, Louisiana, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 18, 2017. She was a graduate of Neville High School and Louisiana State University. She was a retired first and second grade school teacher, and loved singing nursery songs and passing her love of the card game Skip-Bo to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the Lord with all her heart, and Scripture and prayer as a mainstay in her life. She enjoyed and took great pride in her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Eloise Miller; husband, Russell Thomson; and son, Jim Spillers.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Diane Spillers; 10 grandchildren, Shannon Spillers Nix (Kyle), James Spillers (Stephanie), Clayton Spillers, Ashlea Spillers-Sandoval, Parker Spillers, Spencer Spillers, Seth Spillers, Forrest Spillers (Emily), Colby Spillers, Hudson Spillers; 12 great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Alexandra, Logan, Madison, Philip, Ella, Joel, Peter, Josiah, Anna, Ava Madeline, Peyton; and dear cousin Johnye Lou Daniel and family.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, Monroe.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
