Betty Jean Nolan Hackler

February 15, 1934 — October 6, 2017

Funeral services for Betty Jean Nolan Hackler, 83, of Sterlington, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 9, 2017, at First Baptist Church, Sterlington, LA, with Bro. Dennis Hackler and Bro. Ben Hackler officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mrs. Hackler was born February 15, 1934 and passed away Friday, October 6, 2017. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sterlington and retired as secretary of First Baptist Church after 17 years of service.

Mrs. Hackler was preceded in death by her mother, Marceline Nolan Teer; father, Harry Nolan; brothers, Buddy Nolan, Henry Nolan, Lem Nolan, and David Nolan; and brother-in-law, Jack Shadowens; and niece, Lynette Mengarelli.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Dee Hackler; sons, Dennis Hackler and wife Stacey, and Donnie Hackler; daughter, Amy Hackler Gallman and husband Kyle; grandchildren, Ben Hackler and wife Jennifer, Matt Hackler, Savannah Hackler, Laurin Turner, and Landrie Gallman; great grandchildren, Abigail Hackler, Madison Hackler, and Jaxon Hackler; sisters, Anna Laura Shadowens and Carol Artall and husband Jasper; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time Monday at First Baptist Church of Sterlington.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to Katie and Jean of First Choice Hospice for the loving, tender care they provided.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Sterlington Building Fund or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
