Betty Jean Head Hill

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Betty J. Hill, 89, of Archibald, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 16, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville, LA with Rev. Jeff Thomas and Bro. Keith Evans officiating.  Interment will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in Archibald, LA.

Mrs. Hill was born on December 6, 1933, and passed away on March 13, 2023.

She was a member of Little Creek Methodist Church and was a Charter Member of the Sedante Animo Civic Club.  Mrs. Hill worked as a Registered Nurse for 35 years, working in the Ball and Ellington Clinic, Richardson Medical Center, and for Dr. John Hooks to name a few, before retiring in 2021.  She was a beloved wife, mother, “Gran”, sister, aunt, friend, and was always a towering example of grace and strength, love and support.  Aside from her devotion to nursing, she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, Bingo and cooking.  Mrs. Hill is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Gena” Hill; her parents, James Garland and Amy Ester Letlow Head; brother, Bill Head and wife, Barbara; sister, Polly Leach and husband, Vernon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Head, Bernice Boydston and husband, Jack, Grover Cleveland “G.C.” Hill and wife, Grace, Lona McDonald and husband, Mack, Annie Bell Jones and husband, Craig, Mozelle Bingston and husband, Bing, James Hill and wife, Ogalee, Billy Hill and wife, Peggy, Maxine Wiggins, Tom Hill and wife, Lee Ola, Grant Hill “Cricket”, and Dock Hill and wife, Trudy

Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Hill Greer and husband, Emmett; grandchildren, Hannah Greer, Daniel Greer and wife, Kirstie, Emmy Greer, Lee Greer and Darrell Greer; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Head; sister, Shirley Ratcliff and husband, Ben; sisters-in-law, Maxine “Mackie” Hill and Geraldine Hill; nieces and nephews, Frank Lane, Lee Lane, Randy Head, David Head, Jerri Lynne Watts, Cleo Head, Debbie Poindexter, Amy Shipp, and Mickey Head.

Pallbearers will be Cleo Head, David Head, Randy Head, Lee Greer, Frank Lane, and Bill Letlow.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Thursday.
