Mrs. Roberts was born February 8, 1944, in Wisner, LA. and passed away on January 22, 2022.
Bertha was a retired caregiver. She was a homemaker to her late husband for 60 years. She was a mother of two, grandmother of six and great-grandmother of eight. She loved her family dearly and doted on all of them daily. She kept life simple and was respected and appreciated by family and friends. Bertha always had a kind word and smile to give you; was open hearted and unbiased in her opinions of each persons’ character. Her smile was so genuine that it made her eyes light up a room. She gave her love freely, expecting nothing in return. She was loved by many and will be forgotten by few.
Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Shelly Leon Roberts; parents, Smiley and Zelma Ogden; four brothers, Jeremy “Bull” Ogden, Red Ogden, Smiley Ogden Jr., and George Ogden; three sisters, Helen Stewart, Dorothy Parker, and Mary Compton; one special nephew, William ‘Buddy’ Compton; and one daughter-in-law, Sonya Roberts.
Bertha is survived by one daughter, Tina Hardie and husband Stephen of Jonesville, LA, one son, Leon Roberts of Wisner, two granddaughters; Shelley Malry and Jessica Herdy; four grandsons, Tommy Hutchinson, Jeremy Roberts, Lorn Roberts, and Logan Roberts; one great granddaughter, Daisy Hutchinson; seven great grandsons, Garrett Evan, George Drake Roberts, Axton Roberts, Austin Henry Gabrielle Roberts, Bentee Roberts, Jeffery Newsom; special nieces, Sue and Gloria Jean Ogden, and Patty Roberts; special sister-in-law, Nora Ogden; special friends, Jennifer Sikes, Tami Haring, and Stephanie Boone.
Bertha would like to offer a special thank you to Steve Pylant, Kevin Cobb, and Teecee DeBeaux, and her best friend: her phone (AT&T).
Pallbearers will be Gary Knox, Brian Linder, Joel Ezell, Timmy Johnson, Dale Angle, Michael Ellis, Jammie Roberts, and Luke Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are Russell Huber, Russell Roberts, Gary Roberts, and Trevor Roberts.
