Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Williamson Mercer, 81, of West Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at Fair Park Baptist Church with Rev. Waymond Warren, Rev. Charles Davis, and Rev. Milton Pray officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, LA.
Mrs. Mercer went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 30, 2007, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. She was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School, and a member of Peniel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ed W. Mercer; children, Shere May and husband Don, Carol Hendrix and husband Daryel, Dale Mercer and wife Kim; grandchildren, Brandon and Brent May, Allyson, Jason, and Jacob Hendrix, Jonathan, Samuel, and Elizabeth Mercer; special niece, Juanette Jones; brother, Archie Williamson; and sisters, Louise Collins, Betty Hernandez, and Sybil Rea.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
She was not only a wife and mother, but also our best friend. She taught us all to pray and always trust in God. Because of her teaching us about Jesus, we know that we will see her again.
