Bernice Carson Garner

Funeral Services for Bernice Carson Garner age 86 of Monroe will be held at 11:00 am on Monday October 3rd at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel, 165 North in Monroe. Officiating will be Rev. Warren Eckhardt. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Jonesboro. Friends may call on the family at Mulhearn Funeral Home on Monday, October 3rd between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., directly preceding the services.

Ms. Garner passed away at Ruston Regional Specialty Hospital on Thursday morning, September 29, 2022, following a period of declining health. She was a graduate of Jonesboro-Hodge High School. Ms. Garner was a Homemaker and was a longtime member of North Monroe Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry N. Garner, Sr., and her mother and father, Artie Arch and Maude Lee Johnson Carson of North Hodge.

She is survived by her two children, Jerry N. Garner, Jr. and wife Michelle of Ruston and Scott Garner and wife Allison of Pinehurst, North Carolina, along with two grandsons, Jake Garner of Frederick, Maryland and Seth Garner of Brewton, Alabama. Ms. Garner is also survived by her brother, Ronnie Carson and wife Jolene of Hodge, and one brother-in-law, Jackie Garner and wife Shirley of McKinney, Texas. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

The family has requested that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
