Benjamin was born September 10, 1996 in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away Sunday, February 17, 2008, at his home in West Monroe.
Benjamin was born with cerebral palsy and while his activity was limited by his disability, it did not define his life. Benjamin was a source of joy to his family and friends and demonstrated resiliency, patience and grace in the midst of adversity. His family’s unswerving faith in God’s sovereignty and grace has sustained them throughout his life and remains a source of comfort and hope. Benjamin’s life on earth was brief, but infinitely significant. He will be missed, yet his family takes joy in the knowledge that he is healthy, happy and whole in heaven. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Carl Jennings.
Survivors include: his parents Danny and June Jennings, brother, Nathaniel Jennings of West Monroe; paternal grandmother, Gladys Jennings of West Monroe; maternal grandparents, Ray and Dorothy Young of Wisner; aunts and uncles Tony and Marlene Young of Ruston, Peggy and David Kallevig of Alexandria, Minn., Jesse and Leslie Young of Wisner and Gene and Sandy Jennings of Calhoun; and a host of loving great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A special word of appreciation is expressed to Dr. Bonita Dyess and the staff of Pediatrics Plus for excellent medical care, Family Care Services for providing childcare, Alpha Care for nursing care, and Melanie Massey Physical Therapy for giving love and care to this precious child. Also, a special thank you to Dean Sims, Benjamin’s beloved long time nurse and best friend.
