Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Benjamin Glenn Ham, 82, of Fairbanks, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday February 5, 2015 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe, LA with Rev. Jerry Edmondson, Rev. Bruce Rux, Rev. Jonathan Wagner, and Rev. John Mabry officiating. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe.Mr. Ham passed away Monday, February 2, 2015, at St. Francis Medical Center.Mr. Ham was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church, where he was a member of Graceminster Presbyterian Church and attended Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Boy Scouts, where he received his Eagle Scout with Eagle Palms. He was past president of Ouachita River Valley Association, past president of Monroe Chapter Ducks Unlimited, President of Aqua Water Company, member of the Louisiana Pecan Growers Association and the Louisiana Forestry Association, and a volunteer bell ringer for the Salvation Army for over 15 years.Glenn managed 30,000 plus acres of timber, 450 acres of Pecan trees, 250 acres of crawfish ponds, and Black Bayou Lake for Cities Service and Occidental Petroleum Companies.He retired at the age of 5l, enjoying 32 years of retirement in the outdoors hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, friends, and dogs.“If you were his friend, you were always his friend.” Glenn was a True Southern Gentleman. Survivors: his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Patricia Anne Ham; Daughters, Kathy Ham Dumas and very special son-in-law, David and Lindy Ham Acree; Grandchildren, Benjamin (Benji) Dumas, Jaried Acree, Haley Dumas Abshire and husband, Ben; Great Granddaughter, Bella Acree;Sister, Mrs. Vashti Shrum; Sister-in-law, Mrs. Anna Lois Ham, special cousin, Mrs. Quida Oxford; and several loving nieces and nephews.Honoring him as pallbearers will be his nephews, Ronnie Warren, Mike Ham, Danny Ham, Dee Methvin, Stephen Shrum, and Kelly Ham. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dickie Thompson, Drew Pesnell, Jim Free, Steve Tolson, Tommy Ormond and Jimmy Ormond.Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
