Benjamin Franklin Hargrove, Jr.

Funeral Services for Mr. Ben “B.F.” Hargrove, 83, of Columbia, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Ricky Baker and Rev. Frank Shields officiating. Interment will follow in the Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery in Vixen, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Hargrove was born on December 20, 1933, and passed away on June 11, 2017, at his residence in Vixen, LA. He enjoyed music, hunting, fishing, and his dog, Muchie. Mr. Hargrove proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was retired from being self-employed, owner of Hargrove Water Wells, West Monroe Pump and Supply, and Tube Pump, Inc.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ida Hargrove; brothers, Edsel Hargrove, Bill Hargrove and Edgar Hargrove; sisters, Pauline Waggoner, Irene Bailey, Juanita Haddox and Johnnie Boyd.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Hargrove; sons, Mark Hargrove and wife Kathy, and Mike Hargrove and wife Sheila; daughters, Marcie Hargrove and Stacie Ford; grandchildren, Earl Bradshaw, Heath Hargrove, Joey Peery, Brian Peery, Arden Marioneaux, Erin Hargrove, Joseph Ford, and Benjamin Ford; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hargrove grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Earl Bradshaw, Joey Peery, Brian Peery, Heath Hargrove, Joseph Ford and Benjamin Ford.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Waggoner, Houston Waggoner, Ernest Waggoner, Reggie Owens, Teddy May, Terry Lewis, Tom Jordan, Gary Steele, Frankie Steele, Marvin Bailey, Jr., Eloye Washer, Hilery Dozier, Tom Owens and James McMillon.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.

Special thanks to Dr. Yarbrough, Tommie Nolan, Louisiana Hospice and sweet friend, Laverne Bailey for the care they gave to Mr. Hargrove.
