Benjamin Arthur (B. A.) Walker, 85, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013, in El Dorado, KS. B.A. was born in Hazelhurst, Georgia on September 28, 1927, the son of Benjamin A. and Ammie Le Vada (Hartley) Walker.
Prior to his move to Leon, KS, B.A. had lived in Monroe for the past 59 years. His work in retail spanned his adult life, from owner of People’s Clothing Store until its closing, and as a sales associate at Dillard’s until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Ammie Walker; his brothers, Milton, Clay, Leroy, and sister Florence; Marjorie (Hartley, Walker) Hearn, his first wife and the mother of his three children; Frances H. Walker, his wife of 59 years, and Benjamin A. Walker III, his oldest son.
Mr. Walker is survived by his brother Bruce from Louisiana, his sister Alda Crance from California, son Wally Walker from Oklahoma, daughter Jeannie Parscal of Kansas, 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 18, 2013, in the chapel of Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, Monroe, with Rev. Clarence Powell officiating. Interment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe.
