Memorial services for Ms. Beatrice “Bea” Rosalie Shelton, 89, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Christ the King Church on the ULM campus in Monroe, LA with Deacon Scott Brandle officiating. Guests may gather in the chapel for viewing from 1:00 P.M.- 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, June 23, 2021.
Ms. Shelton was born January 24, 1932, in Monroe, LA, and passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Assisted Living in Monroe, LA.
Ms. Shelton was a devout catholic throughout her life. She was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Monroe, LA from childhood until she moved to South Pasadena, California where she became an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church for 45 years. She had recently moved back to her hometown of Monroe and took up residency at St. Joseph’s Assisted Living facility until her passing.
Ms. Shelton was a great cook, intelligent, and high spirited with the best laugh. She was a national and international tournament bridge player.
Ms. Shelton was preceded in death by her parents, V. Charles Bruscato and Nina Scalia; and brother, Frank Ross “Buddy” Bruscato.
Survivors include her children, Mary Jean Ricci, Laura Sue “Suzy” Shelton; siblings, Charlotte Anne Buford, Mary Claire Davis, Mark Robert Bruscato; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
