Barre C. Tanguis

Graveside services for Mr. Barre Christopher Tanguis, 78, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA.

A reception will follow services at 1:00 PM at the Lotus Club in Monroe, LA.

Mr. Tanguis died Sunday October 18, 2020, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA.

Mr. Tanguis was a member of the Catholic faith. He attended LSU and La Tech Universities where he received his BS degree. He was the owner of Fluid Machinery in Monroe. Barre was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying many days in the duck blind or on the water fishing in the lake or gulf. Barre was a very active member of Ducks Unlimited, serving as the chairman for the Monroe Chapter, Louisiana State Chairman, Regional Trustee and was awarded a Trustee Emeritus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Cecile Tanguis; and his daughter, Kate Tanguis.

Survivors: his wife of 54 years, Mrs. Iva Nell Tanguis; daughter, Danielle Tanguis and her husband, Chuck Sappington; son, Barre C. Tanguis, II, and his wife, Cecile; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SOS Pets of Ouachita Parish for the building of the new animal shelter, the Ouachita Parish Library, or the charity of your choice.
